Food System Institute Coordinator

The Food Systems Institute (FSI) Coordinator supports programs under the Food Systems Initiative, including the Lakota Cultural Foods Program and the Regenerative Poultry Program. This role coordinates hands-on classes, certifications, and events, while integrating traditional Lakota food knowledge through cultural teachings, harvesting practices, preparation methods, and food preservation. Responsibilities include data collection, community education, poultry processing and packaging, curriculum adaptation, and outreach in partnership with educators and Lakota traditional bearers. The Coordinator helps strengthen food sovereignty and serves as a resource for communities, organizations, and individuals interested in learning about the food system.


Food Hub Coordinator

The Food Hub Coordinator will support the daily operations and growth of the Food Hub. This role helps broaden local food market access by working with producers, farms, and food gatherers to source products for the hub. The Coordinator will assist in connecting with local businesses to identify potential partners and vendors. Responsibilities include coordinating storage, transportation, and distribution logistics, as well as supporting marketing efforts to promote local foods sold and distributed throughout the area.


Oceti Sakowin Food System Institute Coordinator

The Oceti Sakowin Food Systems Alliance (OSFSA) Coordinator will help carry out the vision and three-year plan for the OSFSA. This role supports partnerships across Oceti Sakowin communities, coordinates meetings and workgroups, assists with policy research and drafting recommendations, and helps organize advocacy efforts that promote a thriving local food system. The Coordinator will help establish processes, timelines, and organizational systems to move projects from planning into action.


Finance Director

The Finance Director will oversee the day-to-day financial operations of MAD and support long-term financial planning that aligns with MAD’s goals. Responsibilities include maintaining MAD’s books, tracking all grant spending, processing payroll, and communicating regularly with the CEO. The Finance Director will also ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and the financial policies established by MAD. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed to support the organization.
