Regenerative Production Farm

Makoce has acquired 40 acres of Tribal allotted land to establish its production farm. This will be the first operating, educational farm land on Pine Ridge Reservation. The farm will support a diverse ecosystem including wild flowers, hemp, trees, nuts, bees, chickens, and more. Our production farm’s design is regenerative and ideal for hosting chickens as its primary value added product in its first few years with the goal of adding more animals as our organization grows.

The farm also provides access to our Mobile Poultry Processing Unit which will be developed with permanent infrastructure and will be available for any producer who is willing and able to produce value-added products. We are excited to offer local producers access to a processing facility. We are actively working on USDA certification so that our producers are able to sell to a larger market. Producers working with Makoce will be able to store their products in our food storage system. The food storage system allows our producers to sell their products for extended seasons and in doing so, providing access to larger markets.
